Essential Cleaners (“we”, “us”) provides regrouting, silicone sealing, steam cleaning and end of lease cleaning services across Sydney, New South Wales. This policy explains what we collect through essentialcleaners.com.au, why, who we share it with, and how you can control it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry or request a quote we collect the name, email address, phone number and message you enter. If you contact us by phone or WhatsApp, we hold whatever you choose to tell us. We ask only for what we need in order to quote and schedule work — please do not send payment card details or identity documents through this website.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records technical data when you visit: IP address, approximate location (usually city level), device and browser type, pages viewed, referring site, and time on page. We use this in aggregate to understand which services people are looking for and to keep the site fast and secure.

What we do not do. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar identifiers for analytics and advertising measurement. The main ones are:

  • Google Analytics 4 — _ga and _ga_*. Measures how the site is used, so we know which pages are actually useful.
  • Google Ads — _gcl_* and related identifiers. Tells us whether an advert led to an enquiry, and may be used to show you our ads on other sites (remarketing).
  • Google Tag Manager — loads the tags above. It does not itself store analytics data.
  • Cloudflare — security and performance cookies that help protect the site against abuse.

Strictly necessary security cookies aside, none of these are required for the site to work. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time and the site will still function.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details are kept only as long as needed to quote the job, carry it out, stand behind the work, and meet our tax and record-keeping obligations — then deleted. Analytics data is retained by Google under the retention period configured on our property, after which it is deleted or aggregated.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS with a strict Content Security Policy, and enquiries are transmitted encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

Our services are offered to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Please check back occasionally.
